About Black Virgin

Meet Max Bénézeth – Music Producer, Sound Engineer & Lifelong Musician
(Alias Maxxius, Founder of Black Virgin Studio)

My name is Max, and for over 20 years, music has been my culture and my heartbeat ! I'm a trained guitarist turned producer and sound engineer, equally at home on a live stage or behind the console. I’ve honed my craft between France and London, where I spent a decade immersed in underground scenes, collaborating with bold artists, and championing sounds that defy conventions.

A Journey Rooted in Sonic Experiment

A graduate of ProMusica (France) in Musical Culture & Instrumental Studies, I trained in classical harmony, jazz theory, and composition under rigorous mentors.
But it’s in London’s experimental music scene that I truly learned my trade:

Guitarist and electronic wizard for many Rock & Electronic indie bands
Resonance FM Radio Host for 5 years, curating avant-garde shows bridging French and British soundscapes for the London Radio Art Station.
Active Member of the London Musicians Collective: Weekly Improv sessions with free jazz pioneer Eddie Prévost, gigs in squats, alternative bars, museums… with London's vibrant international crew of musician outcasts.
A time when every stage was an adventure.
Founder of DIY Labels: I produced raw electronic 7" & EPs, post-rock albums and genre-bending tracks, with a “Grit over Gloss” philosophy.
